Clubs

You are invited to the Coffee Hour each Monday morning at 9:00 AM. We meet our neighbors and make new friends. You can purchase coffee and a sweet roll for $1.00. Bring your cup, join us and learn the events of the coming week.

Computer Discussion Group: Meets on Monday at 1:30 in the hall. This is not a “club”, but an open discussion group. The purpose is to help each other if we have any computer problems. Usually someone can answer our questions. Any and all computer users are welcome.

Bingo: Every Monday night the Club sponsors a low budget Bingo game. Play starts at 7:00 PM but many arrive around 6:00 PM to buy their tickets and pick out their cards as well as visit with others. The cards are 25 cents each with a minimum purchase of 4 for $1.00. The club has chips for general use. However, there are also magnetic wands and chips available for sale. You won’t get rich but you will have a lot of fun if you like Bingo.

The Bingo Goody Bar: Coffee, soda, chips and candy bars are available and so handy. At Bingo you may not always win but you can sure to be served with a grin.

Hobby Club: Room 3 is used by the Hobby Club, where we work on crafts each Monday at 1:00 PM. We have sewing machines; we make crib quilts from donated material to give to Day Care Centers. We make mattress covers from used sheets; we make bibs from terry cloth. We sponsor a Craft Show in December and February each winter. If you are a Park Member you may reserve a table to sell your items. We have a Trash and Treasures sale in Room 1 and Room 3 on the day of the show. Anyone can donate reusable articles to be sold. (No clothing or furniture). Our dues are $1.00 a year. The money we earn is used to keep our Hall in excellent condition. In December we sell white sacks and candles to put all over the Park on Christmas Eve.

“Welcome Wagon” greets new members in the park. We try to greet all new members soon after their arrival.

Card Party is held on each Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM in the hall. You may play Euchre or any other game if you have a table of four.

Bible Study: Held each Wednesday at 9:00 AM in Room 1. Bring your Bible and join the group. We love God and our Savior Jesus Christ, His word and all people. Men and Women are welcome.

Remote Control Boats set sail at our lake after Monday Coffee & Thursday mornings @ 9:00 AM. Stroll on over to the lake to observe, participate or obtain additional information on the great sport of remote control sailing.

Choir Practice: Meets every Friday morning at 10:00 AM. Hymn Sing is every Sunday evening at 7:00 PM. The full membership is invited to attend the Hymn Sing. The length of the singing lasts one hour, ending at 8:00 PM (sharp). We also invite members of the Club that may have talent of singing to share them with us, even though you may not wish to join the choir. The Hymn Sing also draws guests from other parks and if you have friends, please invite them. When you have children and grandchildren visit you, and they wish to sing a special, we love it. Just let us know in advance so musical accompaniment can be arranged.

The Red Hat Club: This is open to any women over fifty who wants to wear a red hat, purple outfit and have fun! There are no rules. Meetings are usually gatherings for lunch or a party. Members decide what activities the group will have. The purpose is to meet new people and enjoy life!

Library: The library is located behind the stage in the hall, open when the hall is. We have a large selection of all types of books, puzzles, videos or magazines. Any duplicates or books we cannot use are sold at the Craft Shows held in the Hall.

Exercise room available to all members and guest (with members present).

Pool table room available to all members & guest (with members present).

Shuffle Club: The largest of Clubs within the Park. Dues: only $3.00 for a year per person plus 50 cents for use of cue house. We have one of the finest shuffleboard facilities in the Palmetto-Bradenton area, with 23 well kept courts and a new cue house and office room from which we run tournaments. We currently have about 300 members of which about only half of them play regularly. The members enjoy monthly potluck dinner meeting with entertainment and fellowship. Learn to shuffle for free on Wednesday 10:00-11:00 am. Qualified instruction are available almost anytime, you do not need a cue stick, as we have them, available for use. Closed toes shoes must be worn on the courts for safety purposes. Monday through Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 PM is our socialized free playing time
open to everyone and especially new players. Black and Gold shuffle is
Tuesday 7:00 pm 25 cents each. Hoss collar is Sunday 2 pm $1.00 each. Come and enjoy some excellent fellowship. An officer of the club will contact and invite you to enjoy these activities offering a 1 year free membership to each new household of the PMHC.

Drama Club: We have a program usually the last Friday of each month at 7:09 PM. We charge no dues but do take a free will offering at one of our programs during the season to cover expense. Our big night for the Park is our Christmas Program in December. We’re actively looking for new talent or behind the scenes help.
